Amrita was born to well-to-do Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin family. She speaks English, Hindi, Marathi, and Konkani.. Her dad’s name is Deepak Rao. She stands about 5’5″ feet tall. She attended Cannosa Convent Girls High School in Mahim, Mumbai. For College, Rao went to Ruparel College, where she was a Psychology student, but later quit college in order to pursue a career in modelling. Amrita also has a twin sister named Preeta Rao.

She entered the world of modeling quite by chance, when she auditioned for an advertising film for Fairever Face Cream. She was selected for the film, and since then appeared in a number of television spots for several products. She has recently been signed on as the brand ambassador for Miss Players. She made her cinematic debut in the 2002 film Ab Ke Baras, but gained recognition only after the success of her 2003 film, Ishq Vishk, in which her portrayal as Payal earned her the girl-next door image. Success followed for her in 2004 films like Masti and Main Hoon Na. However her following releases Deewaar (2004), Vaah! Aamir Khan was born in Mumbai into a Muslim family that has been actively involved in the Indian film-industry. His roots are connected to the ethnic Pashtuns from Afghanistan. He is a descendant of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and is originally from Shahbaad, Uttar Pradesh.His father Tahir Hussain is a producer; his uncle Nasir Hussain was a director. He has acted in a few films directed by his cousin Mansoor Khan. His brother Faisal Khan is an actor, and they have co-starred in the 2000 film Mela. Aamir began his career as a child actor in films like Yaadon Ki Baraat (1973) and Madhosh (1974). After eleven years, he made his adult acting debut playing a supporting role in Ketan Mehta’s Holi (1984).

In 1988 he got his first leading role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak which was a huge success and launched his career.[5] After that, he went on to appear in many other films in the 1990s, which did poorly at the box office.However he had success with Dil (1990), which became the highest grossing film of the year and Rangeela (1995), which entered in the top five highest grossing films.Aamir went on to write the screenplay for Mahesh Bhatt’s Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke (1993), in which he also acted.

His first release for the new millenium was the box-office failure Mela where he acted alongside his real-life brother Faisal Khan.

In 2001 he produced and starred in the Academy Award nominated Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India. The film became the third highest grossing film of that year and gave him his second Filmfare Best Actor Award. His second release, the moderately successful Dil Chahta Hai (2001) also entered in the top five highest grossing films of 2001 and earned him another nomination for Best Actor at the Filmfare ceremony.

For the next three years, Khan had no releases, as he put in a lot of time preparing for the role of the real-life martyr Mangal Pandey in his comeback film, The Rising (2005) Although the film was not as successful as Lagaan, it managed to do moderately well, becoming the third highest grossing film of that year.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s critically acclaimed Rang De Basanti was Aamir’s first release in 2006. His role was well acclaimed,earning him a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance and various nominations for Best Actor including the Filmfare Awards. The film went on to become one of the highest grossing films of the year and was selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars Although the film was not shortlisted as a nominee, it won a nomination for Best Foreign Film at the BAFTA Awards in England. His performance in his next release, Fanaa (2006) was also acclaimed and the film went on to become one of the highest grossing films of 2006.

Salman Khan made his acting debut in the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi where he played a supporting role. His first leading role in a Bollywood movie was in Sooraj R. Personal life

Salman is the eldest son of celebrated screenwriter Salim Khan and his wife Salma Khan. His stepmother is Helen (actress), a famous yesteryear Bollywood dancer and actress. He has two brothers, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, and two sisters, Alvira and Arpita. Alvira is married to actor/director Atul Agnihotri.

The actor is known to be involved in several charities and many swear by his generosity.

Despite tumultuous relationships with ex-girlfriends Aishwarya Rai, Somy Ali and Sangeeta Bijlani, he is regarded as Bollywood’s most eligible bachelor. Currently he is dating Katrina Kaif.

Controversies

Legal troubles

On September 28, 2002, Salman was arrested for rash and negligent driving. He was under the influence of alcohol and his car veered onto a sidewalk outside a bakery in Mumbai. One person who was sleeping on the sidewalk died and three others were injured.Charges of culpable homicide were laid against him, but later dropped.However, some legal action in this case appears to be on-going.

On February 17, 2006, Salman was sentenced to one year in prison for hunting an endangered species, the Chinkara. The sentence was stayed by a higher court during appeal.

On April 10, 2006, Salman was handed a five year jail term for hunting the endangered Chinkara. He was remanded to Jodhpur jail, and remained there until April 13, when he was granted bail.

On August 24, 2007, the Jodhpur sessions court, upheld the 5 year jail term for Salman in the Chinkara poaching case by turning down his appeal against the 2006 judgement. At the time of the hearing, he was busy with a shooting elsewhere, while his sister attended the proceedings.

He has been placed under police arrest on 25th August 2007 in Jodhpur after a Rajasthan court upheld a prison sentence passed upon him for poaching.

On August 31, 2007, Salman Khan was released on bail from the Jodhpur Central jail where he has spent six days.

Relationship troubles

His turbulent relationship with Aishwarya Rai filled gossip columns. Her parents lodged a complaint against him and he was thrown off a movie set on which Ms. Rai was filming.

In 2005, news outlets released what was said to be an illicit copy of a mobile phone call recorded in 2001 by the Mumbai police. It appeared to be a call in which he threatened his ex-girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai, in an effort to force her to appear at social events held by Mumbai crime figures. The call featured boasts of connections to organized crime and derogatory comments about other actors. The alleged tape was tested in the Government’s Forensic lab in Chandigarh, which concluded that it was a fake.

Early Life

Kate Winslet was born in Reading, Berkshire, England to Roger Winslet and Sally Bridges, both of whom were actors. Her maternal grandparents, Oliver and Linda Bridges, founded and operated the Reading Repertory, and her uncle, Robert Bridges, appeared in the original West End production of Oliver! Her sisters are Beth Winslet and Anna Winslet, also actresses. Most of the people in her family are actors, so her continuing the time-honored tradition was perhaps a natural progression.

Winslet, raised as an Anglican, began studying drama at the age of eleven at the Redroofs Theatre School, a co-educational independent school in Maidenhead, Berkshire, where she was head girl and was soon cast as a spokesperson for a cereal in television commercials. Although she seems to be living an almost idealistic existence, it wasn’t always that way. Early Life

Knightley was born in Teddington, Middlesex, England to Sharman Macdonald, a Scottish actress turned award-winning playwright, and Will Knightley, an English theatre and television actor. She has an elder brother, Caleb who was born in 1979. Knightley lived most of her life in Richmond, attending Teddington School and Esher College. Knightley suffers from dyslexia, but nevertheless achieved good grades in school to please her parents, and was thus permitted to acquire a talent agent and pursue an acting career. Personal Life

Knightley, who currently lives in London, is dating her Pride and Prejudice co-star, Rupert Friend. She has previously dated Irish fashion model Jamie Dornan, as well as actor Del Synnott, who according to some reports, attempted suicide after their relationship ended, although Synnott and Knightley deny these claims. Knightley has stated that she feels uncomfortable dressing up and that she prefers British men over any other nationality, because she feels that British men are less concerned about their own appearance.

She has denied rumours she is anorexic, although she has noted that her family has a history of anorexia, after her appearance at the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest premiere led to media speculation that her extremely slender figure was due to an eating disorder. In July of 2006, Knightley noted that she believes that she has become a workaholic, detailing that “the last five years have blended into one. I can’t tell you what was last year and what was the year before” and specifying that she is “working too much” and is “quite frightened that if I continue at this rate I will start to hate what I love.”As a result, Knightley may take a one year break from acting to travel and focus on her personal life.

Biography

Early Days

Sanjay Dutt was born to one of Bollywood’s most well-known star couples, Nargis Dutt and Sunil Dutt. He has two sisters, Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt. He was educated at the Lawrence School Sanawar.

While he was still in high school, Sanjay Dutt suffered from drug abuse, probably as he was unable to handle the pressure of being the child of two celebrities. His drug problems worsened his mother’s health, who was already diagnosed with cancer. Nargis Dutt died a few weeks before Sanjay Dutt’s first film, Rocky, was to be released. A heartbroken Dutt took to doing more drugs. His father sent him to a rehab center in Texas. But on reaching New York, Dutt suffered from a collapsed lung. After attending a rehabilitation program in the United States, a sober Dutt started working in films again.

Rise As A Notable Actor

Sanjay Dutt acted in several successful films in the 1980s, including Vidhaata (1982), Naam (1986), and Hathyar (1989). He was reportedly director Subhash Ghai‘s first choice to play the lead in Hero (1983), but after witnessing Sanjay Dutt in his drug phase during the shooting of Vidhaata, Ghai picked Jackie Shroff in his place. Sanjay Dutt married Richa Sharma in 1987 (a small-time actress discovered by Dev Anand) who had nursed him back from a lung injury. A year later, the couple had a baby girl, Trishala. Just two months after Trishala’s birth, Risha was diagnosed with cancer and the couple separated. Richa moved to United States with her daughter to live with her parents while Dutt pursued his career in Bollywood. After his wife succumbed to brain tumor in 1996, a bitter custody battle between Dutt and his in-laws over the custody of his only daughter ensued, which Dutt lost. Sanjay Dutt’s sister, Namrata, married actor Kumar Gaurav, the son of yesteryears Bollywood star Rajendra Kumar.

Sanjay Dutt resurrected his cinema career with movies like Sadak (1991) and Saajan (1991). He received his first Filmfare nomination for the best actor in a lead role, for the film Saajan. His breakthrough role came in Subhash Ghai‘s Khalnayak (1993), which became a huge hit and gave his career a boost. He received a filmfare nomination for the film.

Arrest in 1993

The release of Khalnayak (1993) happened to coincide with Sanjay Dutt’s arrest in connection with the 1993 Mumbai Bombings. He was convicted of illegal possession of arms and ammunition, which were allegedly part of the consignment used in the bombings. According to the CBI case filed in a TADA court, it was alleged that the gangster Abu Salem and his men went to Dutt’s house on 16 January 1993 and gave him three AK-56 rifles, 25 hand grenades, one 9 mm pistol and cartridges. He returned two AK-56 rifles, hand grenades and cartridges to Hanif Kadawala and Samir Hingora but kept one AK-56 rifle with himself. The rifle and cartridges allegedly formed part of the consignment, which was smuggled into India at Dighi Port on 9 January 1993.

Sanjay Dutt acknowledged that he personally knew the other accused, but denied the charges that he was involved with the larger conspiracy. He was arrested on 19 April 1993 (about a month after the blasts) and spent more than 18 months in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai, before being released on bail. During this time, he received considerable support from the Indian Film Industry, as well as his fans.

Decision About Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment on 31 July 2007 by judge P.D.Kode. His aide Rusi Mulla, however, was awarded probation and is under observation for one year. The media reported that Sanjay Dutt’s arrest put Rs. 1.5 billion of Bollywood business at stake. Sanjay Dutt was also fined Rs. 25,000 and his probation plea was rejected. The actor, who had hoped to be freed under the Probation of Offenders Act, said with folded hands: “Sir, I made a mistake 14 years ago. Please give me some time to surrender.” But the judge rejected the plea. “Act till the age of 100, I have only taken away six years,” the judge said, even adding that he had liked the actor’s performances in films. Sanjay Dutt’s lawyer, Mr Satish Maneshinde, said the actor would appeal against his sentence in the Supreme Court. “We will appeal against the order in the Supreme Court… He has accepted it with a heavy heart,”
